Parrot Fish growing up

Not a great picture but you can see the black is going away quickly on this one. Star (the other parrot) is still very dark. They are such little pigs. Always expecting me to feed them when ever I get near the tank. lol

Clown loaches

They are both gone. I wont be getting anymore. That is 20 dollors of fish and 30 in meds down the drain. They were sure nice looking fish but I never figured on them costing me somuch.

One Dead Clown

Ich didn't kill him cause it is gone at the moment but they dont seem to be eating well. Either they just are not eating or the all natural treatment I am using is killing them. Not sure which. The one I have left I have seen eat but he is very very thin so may not make it eihter. I wont ever get these again. Way to much money for a fish that is nothing but trouble.
Maybe some rainbows well look nice in this tank when it settles back down. The new goldfish look great. Need to try and get pictures of them.

A Wall

All in my 75g but one clown that is so far hiden I cant find it anywhere seem to be ich free.
I also bought two new goldfish. I didn't post it but my other fantail died last week. Not sure whats going on there. The water was fine and he showed no signs of illness. Just woke up one morning and he was dead.
Someone suggested that this time of year was bad for the smaller goldfish to travel. I have never heard this before but decided to give the theory a try and I bought larger fantails this go around and from a different pet shop. They are both gold fantails but one only has a singe tail not a double. Does that still make him a fantail? The pet shop had an 8 inch long goldfish in it. No I did not buy it cause not enough finage for me but still it was a pretty fish. Wonder if it is still there? Maybe I should go back and get it. lol

Still Battling Ich

The ich is gone from my parrot fish but still on my clowns. But everyone is still alive. This time I plan to treat for a week after all signs of it is gone. I am not enjoying this tank at all.

5/25/2006

Ich

Well the clowns are free of it again. They only had one or two spots but my one of my parrot fish still has it. Hope the cories live threw the high temps again.

5/24/2006

Stinking Ich

So if I just take the clowns out of the tank well that stop the ich? If it don't clear up and stay gone this time that is what I'm going to do.

5/23/2006

Ich?

Gone or not. It seems to be gone on the clown loaches but I think one of my parrot fish may have it. I really really wish I didnt get these dang clown loaches. I just worry all the time.

Two dots left

At least that is all I see on the tail of one of my loaches. ya everyone is alive still.

5/19/2006

Much Better

The ick is almost gone. Wow I can't believe everyone is still alive. After this I would not recomend clown loaches to anyone. What a pain this has been.
After hours and hours of picture taking I have one goldfish picture that acually looks like Matt my goldfish.

5/18/2006

So far so good

The loaches appear to have less white spots and no one else seems to be ill effected cause of the higher temp. The Parrots are over here looking at me. They think its time to eat. For such small fish they sure do eat a lot. They are only about three inches right now. Think I may have a picture of the goldfish need to upload it to my computer and have a look see.

Just what I was afraid of

I went back and forth on the idea of adding clown loaches to my tank. And now I wish I had not. They both have ick. So Im raising the water temp and adding some ich-attack to the tank (100% organic). If they make it I hope it dont come back. If they dont make it I wont get loaches again.
So I set and wait. They seem fine for the moment. Swimming around like normal. One of them even ate yesterday.

Looking Good

Everything is looking good today. Fish are active. I thinking of moving my beta from the 5g and try to get them plants back in the gravel. I have tried weights and some other things but no luck. Thinking this time Ill just put large stones on them with plans to remove them when the plants finnaly take root.
I picked up some sinking shimp pellets. So far Im up to six different fish foods. My husband thinks I'm nuts. Thinking of getting some krill next week.

The clowns

I am worried they are not eating. They are going 90 mph all over the tank but I have yet to see them eat anything. My cories are always sifting threw the rocks eating the bits and pieces that make it past the BP's but them clowns don't ever seem to be looking for food. So I have a couple extra snails well not really extra but to many and I put it in there last night. It is still there this morning so either it is to big for them to eat or they are not eating at all.
Guess Ill search the net see what else I can find out about their eating habits. Their color looks good and they are very active but I worry.

Update on Blueberry

It looks really bad. No color and he is curled. Poor guy not sure if I should just send him over rainbow bridge(humanly) or just see if he well come on around. The fish store dont have anymore but I guess I could get them to order some.

Blueberry

I bought a blueberry loach last week and the pet store held him for me. That may of been a bad idea. It is so skinny and I don't think it ate a thing all week. When I bought it, it was nice a plump. The guy told me(I have been dealing with this guy for years) that the fish came in with ick and for three weeks it was in the back in the sick tank. Once he put it up front it seemed to of stopped eating. He speculated it was all the lights and other fish in the tank. So I brought him home took my one betta from my 5g tank (this is just temparary arrangement) and put the blueberry in the 5g it is well planted so he has lots of places to hide. Best I can tell he is not eating. I decided to stick a snail in there(have lots of those and can get more easy) I figure that is the best way to know if or when he starts eating.
Monday I'll call the pet store see if they have any answers now that we know for sure he is not eating. Such a pretty fish hate to see him not make it.
On the bright side other then one of my clown loaches needing better color they seem to be doing great in the 75g. Right now they hang out a lot with the Parrot Fish. I even saw one swimming backwards yesterday. So cool.

Water Test

Did water test on the 75g this morning. It is perfect. So I can go get my fish that are on hold. And make the final decision on tank mates soon.

This tank is shaping up nicely. Only problem is when I get it all set up is when I start to get bored. Got to find ways to keep me interested in this tank.

Thinking of redoing my 5g. Keep the one fish that is in it but maybe add some plant gravel. I have had this tank set up since Jan. But the plants just won't take root and I keep having to stick them back in the gravel. Getting annoying. Or maybe Ill just throw out the plants.

Eager

This is a picture of my Betta.
The BP's were out and eager to greet me this morning. Ive been thinking of adding Silver Dollor Tetras instead of the clown loaches. I think I am getting to many bottom dwellers with the 7 cory cats in there already. But I sure would like the clowns.
Matt the goldfish is doing swimmingly still.

Brain storm

I don't know why I didn't do this before. My 30 gallon tank has the same size filter as my 75 gallon so this morning I switched filters on those two tanks. That should make a fast cycle on the 75.
Star and No name are still up and going 90 miles an hour.
Now I well have to wait on the loaches. They are supper fussy about their water so they well have to go in after the tank is officially cycled.
Matt my fantail goldfish is looking good too. Still not eating the pellets to good he never seems to see them till they hit the rocks and he is to lazy to go after them. Silly fish.

Blog Just For My Fish

I reset up my 75 gallon and my husband made a joke about it lasting till I got old tank syndron. I have gotten some long lived fish for this tank and really need to keep it up for a long time. Thought maybe a blog would help keep me into this tank so to speak.
The 75 is the home of two parrot fish, 7 cories, 3 clown louches(to be added later) and one blueberry louch(on hold and to be added later).
I still have my 5 gallon planted tank on my bed side table with my one fighting fish.
Also have my 30 gallon up with my one gold fish and 6 snails.
We did own an oscar for 10 years but that was my husbands and he did all the upkeep on that one. It was much in need of a bigger tank and we were not willing to buy 125 g so it went to someone that had one and the room for the fish.
I look forward to watching my new friends grow. The picture is of Star and friend. Do not have a name for the other yet.
