All my Betta's have passed on. Last month I got two of the cuties little girl betta's and I have two new males on order. Plan to change some of my water changing system on my tanks in hopes these live longer. Ever other day on my Betta tanks and every five on my goldfish.
The goldfish are doing great. Did lose one back in December. No clue why. But have two new goldfish and everyone is doing great. So uped the water changes and added a new canster filter in place of one of the HOB for more media room. The tank looks great.
So plan to change water in two of the small tanks every day and then on the 5th day do the goldfish tank.
The 10g is still doing well but I stopped changing water on it but ever three months. Its weird but with soil in it the tank just doesnt do well if you change the water a lot. I have guppies in there and have lots of babies. Time to cull I think here soon. Looks like Im up to about 12 fish in there.

Working on 10g

Been doing a little work on my 10g planted tank. Put those fish and the filter in the 75g. Little over stocked until I figure out the sex on my BN plecos so I can take some of them to the lfs. Now this 75g has 900 gph filteration. With lots of hornwort too. Ill try to get a picture up later today of all the changes.
I moved my 5g planted and two of my 1g jars to the stand the 30g was on. Moved the 1g fish tank from the bedroom on to my desk for better lighting. This set up should be easier to tend to the 30g was in a spot that was hard to get to for water changes.
Unfortantly during my water change for my 75g today my dang rynkin(sp) Mojo got sucked up in the pythan and now has a fat face. Hehe If I could find room for more Id get more.
After having the fancier kinds (Two halfmoons) I have decided those are not for me. They are much to picky about food water temp ect. To much worry and stress.
My 3 veiltail boys are great. Growing and happy. Just wish there was move of a color slection out there.
The goldfish are happy and growing. The Brustle(sp) noses are growing but still cant tell how is boy or girl. Hopefully not much longer.
For some reason I lost several of my white mountion cloud minnows in my 30g. Got up to 12 and now Im down to 4. Water is fine and they show no signs of illness they just show up dead. The 4 I have left are some of the babies from this year. I started out with five little over a year ago. Wonder if they died of old age? But then that wont explain the lost of the other 3 babies. Oh well sometimes things just happen.
My planted tanks are doing great and multiping. I now have three planted 1g tanks. Two are jars and one is a triagle tank (that I wont ever buy again) The Bettas in them seem to really like the set ups.
I know your not suppose to need to change the water in this style of low teck tank but I do anyway once a week. Moslty cause the halfmoon bettas fins get to looking rough if I dont. And it dont seem "natural" to not change the water.
Have a Blessed day.

Name change

Really need to redo this blog and change the address for it but then Id lose all my post. Oh well.
Anyway I no longer have any parrot fish. Of course if you have been reading you know that.
I recieved anouther betta today. This is the last one. I now have four and that is more then enough tanks and jars to take care of. Need to work on replacing jars with tanks.
I have been have huge problems with ammonia in my tap water. So far only tank that is taking this badly is my 10g and one of my 1g jars. Lost fish and a snail in the 10g and my Betta in the 1g has shreded fins. So got some bottled water and did changes on all my small tanks. The 30g and 75g well just have to ride it out till the city fixes the water. This should just be a tempary problem.
The picture is of my new Betta. He looks just like that too. I am very pleased with this fish.

Betta's

Well I now have three betta's. Sometimes betta's just take a notion and jump out of the tank.

Got the Betta Bug

Well my Shinner passed away so off to the pet shop for a new betta for my 5g. I got a blue veiltail. But then I got to looking at some of the Betta's offered for sale online and well he just wont do. So I ordered a white halfmoon. And bought and set up a small 1g planted tank. It is one of the strange trangle ones with a night light for a light. Four wats but I wont buy one of those again.
So I go to Wally World and stop buy the pet department and they had some very pretty white veiltails. I could not decide on just one so I got both. So now Im up to 3 betta's and still one on the way. hehe I have a 1g jar I was fooling around with that is planted. I moved it to a more visable location put the blue in it set up a 1g creater keeper with some floating plants for one of the white ones. Then put the other white one in the new 1g. When and if the ohter one gets her and it is alive it well go in my 5g planted tank.
Here are a couple pictures.

I knew but....

I knew that parrot fish were aggressive but never dreamed I would not like them. I had an oscar (alone) for 10 years I enjoyed him. But these parrot fish taking nips out of my pleco are really ticking me off.
So Im going to redo my 30g tank and those parrot fish are out of here. Along with all the others in the tank. Not sure what Im going to go with maybe a lot of small fish and some plants.
My goldfish are doing great and I have one more. I saw this cute black and red oranda. However I dont think it well stay this color. Its belly is white. I have had him about a month and so far the color has not changed at all which really surprises me.
the picture is the new goldfish.

Fish Fry

I trimmed back my crypts in my low tech 10g. I have some baby tears (Plants I hope to use for some growd coverage) coming in this week and needed the light to get more to the bottom of the tank and to be able to get them in there and not get tangled up in the crypt. I aslo moved a couple of the ones that had dislodged and taken root in the middle of the tank.

So after I was done I sit back to look at my handy work and noticed some strange "Bugs" in my tank. So I get really close to the tank and low and behold I have fry. Tiny blue/black fish. All I have in this tank is white cloud minnows.

I know they had been doing some breeding behavior. The males try to act like Betta. Puffing up and getting very bright in the white areas but I didn't know any eggs were laid. I have three males and three females if you go by thier behavior.

I have seen three. Might be more but dont think so. I watched the tank for over an hour and never saw more then three together.

Had to add some of my hornwart from anouther tank to make sure they had lots of places to hide. Hope they make it.

LIve web cam

At bottom of page but it well not work. Going to take two of my more agreesive parrots to the pet shop. Move the other two with rainbows and pleco to my 30g. (that I am replacing with a 45 bow front in Dec.) And then move all my goldfish into the 75.
Hope to do this today when I get back from the doctors. (just rutine stuff at the doctors today no big deal.)
I just dont enjoy the parrot fish as much as I thought I would. On the days they are nice to each other they are great but all the fighting stresses me out. The whole reason I own fish is to help me relax in the first place. lol
With this move the goldfish well be next to the computer where I spend most of my waking hours.
Ill be leaving two snails and the cory cats in the 75.

Planted tanks.

<img style="float:left; (Ill try to get a picture before I release him into the tank and post it later today.) At some point Ill have to trade him in or move the cory cats. But maybe Ill luck out and he well not make the average 12 inches they can get. I do have room in my 10g for the cories if I do that.
Hopefully the Pleco well be able to eat all the algea on the rocks. He is a nice looking fish so I look forward to seeing him grow. He/she is only about 2 inches now.
I also picked up a red cap goldfish. It is also very tiny. The pet shop was having a hug sale. Some stuff was marked down 70percent and I just could not resist this cute tiny goldfish. I may have a couple picktures of him later today too.

Pictures of 75g

Before it turned ugly.

My parrots are normal

Ok so now I know all that behavior was normal. I hate it. Fish tanks are suppose to be relaxing. At least for me anyway but this is not. I did the research and knew they did fight some but this is not some this is a lot and no fun. And to top it off all my gravel is turning green. I don't mind green on the sides or on the pots but this gravel thing makes it look so dirty. I take out my plants to clean them ever other week but no clue what to do about my gravel other then take it out and go bare bottom like I have on my goldfish tank. But I from what I have read thats not a good idea for parrot fish. Grrrrrr

Parrot Tank

All is not well in my tank. Yesterday Sonny was picking on Star. Just chasing him and he not even fighting back. Today Star is picking on Sonny. Now Im starting to wonder if this is normal behavior. I'm just not use to all this discord in my tank. I tend to lean towards goldfish behavior. I like a peacefull tank. But now I have them and just can't seem to get myself to part with them.
My husband thinks I should take them both up to the lfs and just keep the two white parrot fish. Not so sure they wont do the same things though when they get older.
Speaking of my goldfish. The orange/red fantail that had the single tail passed on yesterday. I think maybe he was deformed inside as well as outside cause there was no signs of illness. But I did notice he was not growing as much as the other. Poor guy at least he had a great home for his short life.

Parrot fish at it again

lol These guys think they can make babies. They have laid eggs for me three times now. The orange one (Sonny) is so protective of those useless eggs. I did my normal Saturday water change and had to "replant" some of the silk plants. So I had my hands in the tank and got attacked. Scared me to death. But I got a good laugh out of it.
My two white parrot fish are still not making friends with anyone. The tank seems to be divided. The larger of the white parrots stays on the right. The smaller one stays on the left and the "pair" of Blood Parrots say in the middle with the pot they like to lay eggs in. As long as this seems to work for them Ill not worry about it.
Im going to try and get some new pictures tonight. Think I am starting to use pictures I have already post up here.

Pictures of 75g

This is the latest picture of my tank.
